Supervised Apartment Living
Taking on the World
Our Supervised Apartment Living (SAL) is a foster care program in which young adults ages 16.5-21 live first in a group-like setting on Crittenton Center’s campus. On campus, also known as the Cluster Site, the young adults have a newly remodeled kitchen, shared housekeeping responsibilities, and rooms like a dormitory. While in the program, youth learn independent living skills, receive monthly stipends, and are supported in obtaining their high school diploma and/or gaining employment. As they develop skills, they live more independently in a suitable housing setting while maintaining the same benefits.
On our Crittenton Campus, we have built six Tiny Homes to serve as a gateway of independence for these young adults before they enter the world. The houses contain everything needed to function as a first home: bedrooms, bathrooms, fully working kitchens, front porches, and a private entry. Here, they will learn to maintain their household while having the safekeeping of their Crittenton Caseworker nearby, should they need assistance. The Tiny Homes were completed and opened on September 2024. You can learn more about our Tiny Homes here.
