Crittenton Center receives Walmart Spark Good Local Grant

Sioux City, IA: On July 18, 2024, Crittenton Center was awarded the $1,000 Spark Good Local Grant from Walmart store 3101 Floyd Blvd, Sioux City, IA. This generous grant will be used to purchase hygiene items and personal care products for the homeless youth at our shelter, providing them with the necessities to maintain their health and dignity.

The grant will enable Crittenton Center to supply items such as toiletries, hygiene products, and other personal care essentials. These items are crucial for the well-being of the youth we serve, helping them to feel clean, cared for, and confident as they navigate through difficult circumstances.

“We are deeply grateful to Walmart for their support,” said Kim Scorza, CEO, Crittenton Center. “This grant will make a world of difference in the lives of children we serve in our shelter, ensuring they have access to the basic necessities we all need day-to-day.”

Homeless youth often face significant barriers to accessing essential hygiene products, which can affect their health, self-esteem, and ability to engage in everyday activities such as attending school or seeking employment. Crittenton Center is committed to addressing these challenges by providing a safe and supportive environment where young people can access the resources they need to thrive.

The funds will be allocated immediately to purchase a variety of hygiene and personal care items, including but not limited to soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, and feminine hygiene products. These supplies will be distributed directly to the youth in our care, helping them to maintain their personal hygiene and overall well-being.
