Tiny Homes Project: From Concept to Reality

Written by Crittenton Center | December 5, 2023 at 10:04 PM

Crittenton Center staff, Board of Directors, State Partners, project Architects and Contractors, and Local Media gathered yesterday, 12/4/23, to officially break ground on the construction of the Tiny Homes. CEO of Crittenton Center, Kim Scorza, states,

"One of the things that we did a few years ago in our strategic plan was to really look at how to better support youth that were going to be aging out of foster care when they turn 18 and recognizing that some of those youths were ending up homeless. Our board didn’t like that, our staff didn’t like that, and definitely the kids didn’t like that. So we made a plan to develop a tiny homes community here on our campus. When Siouxland said they were going to take up this cause and wrap their arms around our agency and love our kids in such a significant way. Some of our donors may never meet our kids, but they love our kids nonetheless."

The project is set for production by this Wednesday, 12/6/23, and should conclude by Spring of 2024.
