Crittenton Center receives $5,000 Grant to support care kits for homeless youth

Sioux City, IA: On June 25, 2024, Crittenton Center received a $5,000 grant from the Siouxland Community Foundation. This grant will be used to create and distribute care kits for homeless youth entering our program, ensuring they receive essential personal care items to support their well-being and dignity during a critical time in their lives.

Each care kit will include a new backpack, suitcase, or bag filled with items such as toiletries, hygiene products, clothing and other age-appropriate necessities. These kits are designed to meet the immediate needs of homeless youth and help them transition into our care with a sense of security and comfort.

“We are incredibly grateful to Siouxland Community Foundation for their support,” said Kim Scorza, CEO, Crittenton Center. “This grant will make a significant impact in the lives of the young people we serve, providing them with essential items that many of us take for granted. It is our goal to offer not just physical care, but also hope and a sense of belonging to these vulnerable individuals.”
