Sioux City, IA: July 2, 2025- Crittenton Center has been awarded a $1,660 grant from the United Airlines Trust Fund, administered by the Siouxland Community Foundation. This funding will support CPR training and supplies for staff, with a primary focus on employees working in the agency’s Street Outreach Program (SOP).

The grant will help Crittenton Center train team members who work directly with youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness. These staff members are often among the first responders to emergency situations involving vulnerable populations and must be equipped to provide critical, life-saving support in the field.

“Ensuring our staff are CPR-trained not only empowers them to respond in the event of a medical emergency, but also strengthens community preparedness overall,” said Kim Scorza, Crittenton Center CEO. “We’re grateful to the Siouxland Community Foundation and United Airlines Trust Fund for recognizing the value of this work and investing in the safety of our clients, staff, and community.”

The Street Outreach Program serves youth up to age 26 throughout Siouxland, providing crisis intervention, case management, access to shelter, and long-term housing solutions. CPR training will also extend to staff in other programs, including the agency’s emergency youth shelter, child care centers, and Family Resource Center, enhancing safety across all Crittenton Center programs.

This initiative aligns with the Trust Fund’s mission to support projects that enhance public safety and prepare communities to respond effectively to crisis situations.
