MidAmerican Energy hosts Drive by – Drop off to benefit children at Crittenton Center’s Emergency Shelter

Sioux City, IA:  MidAmerican Energy CARES have been collecting items for a donation drive to help the children at Crittenton Center’s Emergency Shelter and Youth Development Center. The Drive by – Drop off event was held at 3901 Green Ave., November 20th, 2020 at 2:00pm.

One department of MidAmerican Energy started collecting essential items to help the kids served at the Emergency Shelter. After other departments heard what they were doing, they wanted to help too. The number of items they were collecting grew so large, MidAmerican Energy CARES decided to designate a donation drive for their entire Sioux City office.

“We are grateful for MidAmerican Energy and love their continued support for our Emergency Shelter.  We appreciate the work they have done for us and for the kids we serve, “Leslie Heying, Crittenton Center’s Executive Director, said.

MidAmerican Energy CARES, a corporate citizenship program, gives time, talent, and resources to help build stronger, more sustainable communities. CARES stands for Community Enhancement, Arts and Culture, Environmental Respect, Education/STEM and Safety.

MidAmerican Energy CARES also recently showed their support by revamping the landscaping at the Emergency Shelter. Members of the Cares team also removed rocks from along the perimeter of the building and replaced them with mulch which provides for a safer environment and better curb appeal.
