CRITTENTON CENTER ANNOUNCES NEW LEADER

After an extensive search led by Crittenton Center’s Board of Directors, the 12-member board is proud to announce the hiring of a new Executive Director to lead the non-profit agency.

Leslie Heying (Hine) of Sioux City has accepted the position of Executive Director of Crittenton Center which serves children and families in Siouxland.  Heying will take over as Executive Director of the 125-year old agency on April 13, 2020.

Originally from Elk Point, SD Heying has called Sioux City home since 2005.  Heying started her career as a high school teacher before embarking on a career in marketing and fundraising. She has held several leadership positions with Briar Cliff University, UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s and the Sioux City Diocese. Most recently, she held a remote leadership position for a Boston-based digital marketing firm.  Heying is also the current chairman of the board for the United Way of Siouxland and a member of the Joint Information Committee, a volunteer group of area professionals who assist with community-wide crisis communication.

“We are extremely pleased to have Leslie Heying taking on the role of Crittenton’s Executive Director,” says Terrie Rasheed, Board President of Crittenton Center.  “Leslie is keenly aware of the vital role Crittenton plays in our community and brings with her an exceptional combination of expertise, energy, and proven leadership.”

Heying succeeds Marian Burnett who has served as Executive Director for Crittenton Center for the past 11 years.  Burnett had worked in other areas of the agency, including social work for 30 years prior to becoming executive director.  She will be missed, and the board wishes her well in retirement.
