Crittenton Center has touched so many lives in its 125 years. To continue doing so for years to come, Development Director Tracy Feathers announces a special opportunity to raise awareness and funds:
“We are honoring our history as we welcome the future with a goal to raise $250,000 in 125 days in a very grassroots manner by asking individuals throughout the community to give to Crittenton Center,” Feathers says.
“The purpose of this challenge is three-fold,“ she says. “To increase awareness about the life-changing work Crittenton Center does, honor Executive Director Marian Burnett’s contributions to the organization, and raise funds to allow us to keep serving at-risk children, individuals and families for the next 125 years. Supporting this challenge is about making a difference as funds raised will support the mission of Crittenton Center.”
Since the 1890s, “Flo Crit,” as many know the organization, has been a lifeline to people facing difficult challenges, Feathers says. “We’re committed to sheltering, educating and empowering children, individuals and families for years to come.”
The challenge comes at a pivotal time in the organization’s history as government and grant funding — which together comprise 83% of Crittenton Center’s budget — are decreasing and philanthropic dollars have become crucial to the organization’s future.
“The work we do is challenging, complex, rewarding and long-term,” Feathers says. “But so are the dreams for Crittenton Center’s future. That’s why we’re excited to celebrate 125 years, honor Marian and announce this challenge for the community to join us.”
